Please be aware that the COA budget for each individual student will be prorated based on enrollment hours.

Tuition and Fees
The average cost of tuition and fees for a typical student based on enrolling for 30 hours per year. There may be additional fees and the actual costs that a student incurs will vary depending on the student’s degree or certificate program.

Books and Supplies
The average cost of books and supplies for a typical student for an entire academic year. The actual costs of books and supplies will vary depending on the student’s courses in a degree or certificate program.

Room and Board
A reasonable estimate of what it would cost to live in Midland while attending school. Actual costs may vary by individual choices related to location and circumstances.

Transportation
An estimate of what it would cost for a student to get to and from the Midland College campus, not to maintain a vehicle.

Personal Expenses
A reasonable estimate of personal living expenses during the enrollment period. Actual expenses will vary.

The cost of attendance (COA) figures in the chart above provide an estimate of what it costs to attend Midland College for a nine-month academic year. Your expenses may vary, but the standard amounts allowed for each COA component provided on this page are used to determine financial aid eligibility. Each financial aid applicant is assigned a COA according to how the student fits into the classifications in the chart.

Cost of attendance budgets are prorated based on enrollment status.

  • Full Time (12+ hours) - 100%
  • Three-Quarter Time (9-11 hours) - 75%
  • Half Time (6-8 hours) - 50%
  • Less-than-half Time (1-5 hours) - 25%

The Financial Aid Office must make sure that the combined total of federal, state or institutional financial aid awarded does not exceed the student’s COA. Midland College’s Cost of Attendance budgets are revised and recorded annually with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

The Net Price Calculator was designed to give an estimate of financial aid through a series of about 10 to 15 questions similar to those listed on your FAFSA. It does NOT replace the need for students to complete the FAFSA.
