Get Your Head in the Game, Future Chaps!

Join us for Fall 2025 New Student Orientation on Friday, August 22, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. right here on the MC campus! With a fun, sports-themed vibe, this event is all about helping you get ready to win on your first day of college and beyond. You’ll get to know your campus, connect with fellow students, and learn everything you need to feel confident and prepared for the semester ahead. In addition to helpful information, there will also be FREE lunch provided by a local community vendor. There will also be FREE giveaways and door prizes throughout the day that you will be entered in just by attending the event! 

We also have a special session just for families — so bring your biggest fans along! Each student is welcome to bring up to two family members to help them feel part of your college journey. Remember, you only get one first day of college — and attending New Student Orientation is the best way to make it one to remember!

Session Schedules

This is a tentative schedule of the day. More detailed information to come!

8:15AM - 9:00AM Chap Center: Check-in for both students and families. Students will receive their New Student resource booklet, T-shirt, Midland College goodies and you'll meet Pepe, our mascot. Take this opportunity to walk around the Chap Center Concourse for a few fun activities and to meet the people who will be a part of your journey at MC. 

9:00AM - 9:30AM- Chap Center. Hear from MC President, Dr. Damon Kennedy, and other administrators as they welcome you and your family to Midland College as we prepare for the start of the fall term. Learn about the schedule for the day and what to expect during New Student Orientation!

9:45AM - 1:30PM- Break into Student Sessions & Parent/Family Sessions. Our New Students will receive a schedule for the day including a rotation of four separate sessions. They will have the opportunity to meet their fellow classmates, learn about academic resources, meet their future professors/staff, and have a brief tour of their new home at Midland College. 

Our Parents & Family Members will have a separate schedule involving different sessions. We will offer the opportunity to learn about where their student is going to attend, a brief tour, receive important information about Midland College from their new perspective, and hopefully feel more comfortable about where they are having their loved on go. 

1:30PM - 3:30PM- Chap Center. Lunch, Resource Fair, & Live Volleyball from our Lady Chaps! Lastly, we will return to the Chap Center to allow students to sign-up for clubs/organizations, learn from different resources, eat some FREE food, and cheer on our Lady Chaps. There will be fun games and prizes provided throughout. Stick around until half-time of the MC Volleyball game for the drawing of some pretty amazing prizes! 

The Chap Bookstore and other campus offices will remain open until 5:00 pm if you still need to purchase your books or course materials, get a parking permit, or your student ID. Please visit those areas of campus and those departments will be available to assist you.
