University of North TexasUNT
How it works
The first two years are spent at Midland College. At the end of the freshman year at Midland College, qualifying students may receive an invitation to interview at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) which is part of the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. No MCAT is required.
Once accepted, students complete the second year at Midland College and transfer for one year at UNT. Years 4 and 5 are spent at TCOM and years 6 and 7 are back in Midland for clinicals at Midland Memorial Hospital.
In this exciting program, students graduate in 7 years as Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and can choose to pursue any specialty in medicine that they so choose.
For students who find that the PCPP pathway described above is not for them, a more traditional pathway to medical school is available. In this pathway, as in the PCPP pathway, mentors are available to help students meet with success.
For information on any of our pre-med options, see your assigned pathways advisor or contact Dr. Wade at (432) 685-4615.
