Midland College invites the community to attend the Chaps Basketball games as the women's and men's teams take on the Howard College Hawks.  Special guest will be former MC Men's Basketball Coach Jerry Stone who will autograph copies of his book Save Them All: One Coach's Quest.

Coach Stone holds the school record for most wins in Midland College men's basketball history and led the Chaps to the 1982 NJCAA Men's National Basketball Championship (along with then assistant coach Reggie Franklin).  During his time at MC, Stone developed several NBA players including Anthony "Spud" Webb, Daron "Mookie" Blaylock, Ricky Grace and Herman "Skeeter" Henry, as well as many major college basketball stars.

Forty-two years of coaching basketball assembled in the autobiography of Jerry Stone provide unusual insight for the reader of Save Them All. Coach Stone has examined the game of competitive basketball through the eyes of the player, the coach and even the parent at virtually every level of the sport. Coaching involves breaking down each phase of a game to the purest of fundamentals. The same effort must be exerted toward the individual player in hopes that a team bond results. Coach Stone’s book has placed a great deal of emphasis on both. The result is a story that is uniquely his own. Paying attention to detail has consistently been his forte. From the high school hopeful to the NBA professional, Stone reveals numerous anecdotes that delight and inform. But throughout the writing, the heart of the story is always centered on attitude and effort.
