Summer Intern Housing

Thank you for inquiring about Midland College Summer Housing for Interns and non-students. Intern housing is available for anyone who has an internship in the area and would like summer housing. We are hopeful that our services will meet your needs.

Housing Dates

May 20 - August 5, 2023

Housing for non-student residents will be offered from May 20 to August 5, 2023. We will not allow interns to move in prior to May 20. For cleaning, sanitizing and routine maintenance prior to the start of our fall semester, interns must vacate on or before August 5, 2023.

If you will not be staying for the entire 11 weeks (May 20 – August 5), we will be glad to provide you with the specific amount for your stay if you notify us in advance.

Rooms are reserved upon

  • Receipt of your Application and copy of Valid State Driver’s License or Passport
  • Background Check Fee
  • Paid Deposit
  • Valid Meningitis Shot Record (unless you are 23 years of age or older)
  • Clear Background Check
    Anyone with a conviction for a felony, Class A Misdemeanor or Class B Misdemeanor, or pending charges at this level are ineligible.

Room space is confirmed upon

  • Receipt of application
  • Full payment
  • Clear background check
  • Once all qualifications are met, an email confirmation will be sent for verification

Background Fee

$20.00 (non-refundable)

Once we receive your application, within 2 business days, you will receive information on how to pay your background fee and room cost. 

Room Fee

$2,750.00 (May 20 – August 5)

If you will not be staying for the entire 11 weeks (May 20 – August 5), we will be glad to provide you with the specific amount for your stay if you notify us in advance.

Housing costs include: room, utilities, and internet; meals are not included.

There are free laundry facilities on site.

Deposit

$200 (Refundable)

The deposit will be refunded minus any damage fees and based on the condition of the room at check-out. Refunds can take up to 60-days to be processed. 

Meals are not included

Although not covered in the cost of the room, meals may be purchased in the June and Frank Cowden Jr. Dining Hall.

Midland College residence halls do not provide any creature comforts, including daily housekeeping services or toiletries for residents.
 

For the Room

  • Alarm clock
  • Blanket, quilt, or comforter
  • Light cleaning products
  • Iron and ironing board
  • Personal electronics
  • Pillows and linens

For the Bathroom

  • Bathroom floor mats
  • Personal care products (hair dryer, curling iron, hot rollers, etc.)
  • Towels and wash cloths
  • Toilette tissue

Laundry

Laundry facilities are located on each floor of the residence hall.

  • Laundry basket or bag
  • Detergent, bleach, softener, etc.

  • Can opener
  • Microwave
  • Percolator, coffee maker (no open coffee pot warmer)
  • Refrigerator (not full size)
  • Surge protectors
  • Television/DVD
  • Computer
  • Two-slice toaster

Due to Fire Laws, These Items Are Not Allowed

  • Candles (not even if they are for decoration)
  • Cappuccino makers
  • Coffee makers with open coffee pot warmer

  • Electric Skillets
  • Extension cords
  • Halogen Light Fixtures
  • Hot plates/Hot pots
  • Incense/Potpourri burners (either with candle or electric plug)
  • Popcorn poppers (unless made for microwave)
  • Portable burners (w/coil heating element or gas)
  • Soldering irons
  • Toaster ovens

Check-In

Check-In will take place at Craddick Residence Hall.

All residents are expected to check out properly as advised by the residence hall manager.

Midland College reserves the right for any paid housing fees that might be refunded may be done at the catalog stated percentage rate depending on the time of move out based on the records of your check out.
