At Midland College, we take pride in being the starting point for so many students’ success stories. As someone who has spent 15 years coaching students on their academic journey, I’ve seen the power of starting small — and dreaming big. MC has a unique and collaborative way of providing students the resources, support, and confidence to reach higher.

For many of our students — especially those who are the first in their families to go to college — starting at a smaller, student-centered college like MC makes all the difference. It’s not just about saving money (though that’s a huge benefit). It’s about having a support system in place to help students walk through an unfamiliar experience, and become a strong self-advocate.

From the moment students walk through our doors, our admissions and advising team is there. We’re not just helping them register for classes — we’re helping them discover their goals and motivations. We sit down together and ask: What do you want for your future? And then we help build a plan to get there, one step at a time.

What truly sets MC apart, in my eyes, is how deeply we care about each student’s journey. Our Student Services staff mentors, encourages, and inspires. I’ve watched our team walk students through difficult semesters, write recommendation letters that opened doors, and cheer from the stands at graduation. That level of commitment is real here, and it changes lives.

We also know that everyone’s story looks a little different. Some of our students come to us through dual credit programs and graduate with an associate degree before they even finish high school. Others are working adults, balancing classes with full-time jobs or families. No matter where they’re starting from, we meet them where they are — and help them move forward.

Midland College has built strong partnerships with universities across the state — including Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Sul Ross State University, the University of Texas Permian Basin, and more. These partnerships mean our students transfer with confidence, knowing they’re prepared for what comes next. And now, through an exciting collaboration with UTPB, we're bringing even more opportunities directly to campus — including upper-level education courses taught right here at MC.

Everything we do at Midland College is rooted in student success, access, and collaboration. We believe in our students. We believe in their potential. And we’re honored to be part of their stories — no matter where those stories lead.

If you’re thinking about college but don’t know where to start, start here and we’ll walk with you every step of the way.
