Dual credit students pass EKG Technician Certification ExamMarch 06, 2023

On Thursday, February 23, students from Midland High School and Legacy High School who are enrolled in the Midland College (MC) dual credit Patient Care Technician program took the EKG Technician Certification exam. All 37 students enrolled in the program passed the exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

The dual credit Patient Care Technician program is part of the MC/MISD Health Sciences College & Careers Academy, a four-year exploration of health-related topics and career preparation. During their senior year, students pursue industry certifications in Nurse Aide, EKG Technician and Phlebotomy. In addition to preparing students for entry-level healthcare certifications, the Academy also offers students opportunities to begin preparations for more advanced careers in the healthcare industry.
