Texas-Wide Intercollegiate Virtual Professional Practice Experience (PPE)
 |
 Develop an innovative, virtual Professional Practice Experience (PPE) model that stimulates
student collaboration and addresses current environmental changes, while at the same
time satisfying the longstanding need for students to be indoctrinated in the reality
of Health Information practices. |
Collaborate with Health Information Management associations and industry professionals to design
rigorous, high-quality teaming activities and evaluate student work. |
Collaborate with the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management
Education (CAHIIM) to ensure the innovative model meets the intent of the PPE requirement. |
Expand options for PPEs and provide practical experience in the areas of operational Health
Information, Privacy and Security, Human Resources Management, Financial Management
and Data Analysis. |
