Midland Northside Lions Club donates funding for scholarshipsAugust 20, 2018

Since 1996, the Midland Northside Lions Club has made a donation to Midland College (MC) to help students further their education. The money is used to fund two scholarships.

On Thursday, August 16, club members once again presented Midland College with funding for the two scholarships.  The first donation in the amount of $2,500 is designated for the Northside Lions Club Endowed Scholarship. The interest accumulated on this endowment established by the Northside Lions Club helps pay the cost of tuition, fees and books for Midland College students. The second donation of $1,500 is directed to the Midland Northside Lion’s Club Fall 2018 Scholarship and awarded to MC Engineering student, John Espino. 

“John Espino is a great student and a hard worker” said John Wojtkun, Lions Club member. “The Lions club continues to appreciate what Midland College does for our community — it is an absolute gem."

“We are incredibly grateful to the Lions Club for their commitment to Midland College,” said Rebecca Bell, executive director of Institutional Advancement. “The surest way to achieve the American dream is through a college education. This gift will help make that path a reality for our students.”
