Joseph  SeverinoAssociate Professor, Mathematics

Joseph was always good at and enjoyed math. He decided teaching was for him while working as a teaching assistant in graduate school. He prefers the traditional classroom, interacting with the students face-to-face. He tries to build his students’ confidence from the beginning. If students believe in themselves, they are more successful in math. Not believing is the single largest barrier to success for his algebra students. For his calculus-level students, it’s a lot easier to provide actual situations where the math will be useful.

He enjoys gaming, watching anime, and listening to a wide variety of music. His causes include: environmentalism, Child’s Play charity and Fair Havens in Midland.
