Celebrate with Midland College at this special graduation ceremony for students who successfully passed the Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (GED®) exam.  In addition, the ceremony will recognize the following groups who have been enrolled in MC’s Adult Education & Literacy programs:

  • Students who have completed all requirements for and attained U.S. citizenship
  • Students who have completed MC’s Real Estate program and are now prepared to take the Texas Real Estate Commission licensing exam
  • Students who have completed MC’s Nurse Aide program and are now eligible to take the Texas Department of Health & Human Services certification exam

“These students have reached a milestone by taking one step at a time,” Dr. Formon Thompson, MC dean of Adult Education and Literacy, said.  “We are so proud of their accomplishments.  I look forward to working with them as they take another step to achieve the next educational goal in their lives.”

The program will conclude with an induction ceremony and recognition of National Adult Education Honor Society students.  The National Adult Education Honor Society was established in 1991 to recognize the sacrifices and efforts of adult learners.  To be eligible for nomination and membership, students must have demonstrated dependable attendance, cooperative attitudes, self-reliance and personal initiative.  Nationally, fewer than 5 percent of all adult education students receive NAEHS recognition.
