Diamondback Energy and Midland College are launching the Diamondback DNA Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Mentorship Program. This program aims to increase the number of credentialed I&E technicians in the Permian Basin. Technicians fulfill a critical oil and gas industry role to ensure safe and efficient operation of complex equipment and control systems.

Midland College will host two information sessions to help students and families navigate the 2026-2027 FAFSA and TASFA financial aid process for the next academic year. The sessions will take place on Thursday, October 23, and Wednesday, November 12, from 9-11 a.m. at the Cogdell Learning Center Annex Building, 201 W. Florida Ave.

Every year, I get the same question from students: "Do I really need to fill out the FAFSA®?" And my answer is always the same: "Absolutely, yes!" On Oct. 1, 2025, the 2026-2027 FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will officially open. This single application is the gateway to nearly every type of financial aid available, from scholarships and grants, to work-study funds and student loans.
