Students who advanced to the state competition competed against top students from
across Texas.
State Results:

McGinn, and Mekhi Stacy. While not every student placed at the state competition,
each participant represented Midland College with professionalism and competed at
a high level.
“These competitions push our students to perform at a high level and reflect the strength
of our programs,” said Erick Gutierrez, Professor and Chair of Energy and Technical
Programs at Midland College. “We’re proud of the way they represented Midland College
and the dedication they’ve shown to their craft.”
“Their success reflects the commitment of our instructors and the strong collaboration
we have with our regional education partners,” Gutierrez added. “Together, we’re able
to provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for students from across the region.”
Participation in SkillsUSA competitions provides students with valuable, real-world
experience and the opportunity to demonstrate the workforce-ready skills they are
developing in the classroom.
