![]() On Tuesday, May 5, Midland College recognized Olivia Trischitti as the 2026 Chap Champion during its annual Honors Convocation, which celebrates outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and student success. Honors Convocation is an evening dedicated to recognizing student excellence across a wide range of areas, including the President’s List, Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta, Student Government Association, First-Generation Ambassadors, Outstanding Major Awards, and Special Program Awards. During the ceremony, Trischitti was named Chap Champion, an award that represents the best of what it means to be a Midland College Chaparral: showing up each day with a positive attitude, leading with grace, and persevering through the challenges of both life and education. The Chap Champion is nominated by Midland College faculty and staff and selected by a review committee. The recipient also receives a scholarship funded by the MC Faculty Senate from the proceeds of its annual chili cook-off. This year’s honoree, Olivia Trischitti, is a student in Midland College’s business administration program and plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in organizational management beginning in the fall 2026 semester. She also serves as the Administrative Assistant to the College’s maintenance and grounds department. According to faculty and staff who nominated her, Trischitti consistently goes above and beyond to support those around her. She is known for her willingness to help without hesitation, her ability to foster a collaborative work environment, and her positive, encouraging presence on campus. In the classroom, she has demonstrated qualities that position her for continued success, including strong writing and critical-thinking skills, along with an ability to interpret complex information. “Olivia represents the very best of Midland College,” said Michael Dixon, Provost of Midland College. “Her work ethic, character, and commitment to others make her an outstanding example of what our students can achieve.” “Students like Olivia are exactly why programs like business administration are so impactful,” said Son Mai. “She has taken full advantage of her opportunities at Midland College and is well-prepared for the next step in her academic and professional journey.” The Chap Champion recognition is presented during Honors Convocation as part of Midland College’s commitment to celebrating student achievement and encouraging continued excellence. Trischitti’s recognition highlights both her academic dedication and her meaningful impact on the campus community. |
