Stroke Survivors & Caregivers ConferenceApril 26, 2023

The Permian Basin Area Health Education Center (AHEC), which is housed at Midland College, is pleased to announce the 2023 Stroke Survivors & Caregivers Conference to be held on Friday, May 19, 8:30 am-4:00 pm at the Conference Center at Texas Tech University Health Sciences, 801 W. 4th St. in Odessa.  The event is free; however, seats can be reserved by going to the Eventbrite registration page.

Texas Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke Council along with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa is partnering with Permian Basin AHEC to coordinate this conference which includes Dr. Tommye Austin, RN as the keynote speaker and a presentation entitled “Barriers to Stroke Care in Rural Texas” by Dr. Sharon Franks-Meeks, RN.  In addition, stroke survivors, stroke survivor caregivers and stroke care professionals will lead panel discussions.  Permian Basin AHEC is providing a complimentary lunch for all participants.  Continuing Education credit for healthcare professionals will also be provided at no charge.
