Join us for this special FREE virtual presentation featuring Ahmad Raza, M.D., Ph.D., and Jennifer Hughes, Ph.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Raza and Dr. Hughes will discuss how holiday blues can affect our well-being and functioning, how to distinguish it from clinical depression or seasonal affective disorder, contributing factors, when to seek professional help, and different strategies that can help us maximize the joy and minimize the distress during this time. Holiday and “post-holiday blues” are a frequent occurrence. The underpinnings of holiday blues are complex and include social, financial, psychological, and biological factors. The stressors of the pandemic have also caused a major impact in each of our lives.

Dr. Raza is a Professor of Psychiatry in the Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute at UT Southwestern who specializes in refractory depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, neurostimulation, and psychopharmacology. A licensed psychologist, Dr. Hughes is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern and Associate Professor at The Ohio State University Medical School and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The event is free via Zoom; however, registration is required.
