Midland College WRTTC receives donation from Fort Stockton Rotary Club in memory of local nurseSeptember 28, 2020

On Friday, September 25, members of the Fort Stockton Rotary Club met at the Midland College Williams Regional Technical Training Center (WRTTC) to present a scholarship award in memory of Lindsey Horton.  Lindsey took courses at the WRTTC and was awarded a Midland College Level II certificate in Vocational Nursing on August 8, 2014.  She then continued taking courses at Midland College toward completing requirements to become a registered nurse.  She graduated from Midland College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in May 2016.  At the time of her death, she was working as an RN at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews. 

“Lindsey was a wonderful student while she was at the WRTTC and later became a very talented and skilled nurse,” Matt Tarpley, Midland College WRTTC director, said. “We thank the Fort Stockton Rotary Club for their donation in memory of Lindsey that establishes the Lindsey Horton Memorial Nursing Scholarship.”

The scholarship will be awarded to WRTTC current and future vocational nursing students.
