The new art exhibit at the Allison Fine Arts Building McCormick Gallery, entitled “Here and There” is curated and hosted by The Midland College (MC) Art Department.

The exhibit will be displayed through October 4 and is also available virtually.

The show features work from artists who have a connection to Midland/Odessa (here) and Pullman, WA (there). Every participating artist attended graduate school at Washington State University (WSU). Curator and MC Associate Professor of Art Michael Richardson feels the two geographical locations are connected through friendship and mentorship.

“While some of the artists’ ties to WSU are more direct, there are quite of few of us who went to undergraduate school at UTPB,” Richardson said. “Those artists connect through friendships made in Pullman and have been invited to the area as visiting artists.”

The selected participating alumni include Daiken Asakawa, Hector Hernandez, Michael Hubbard, Brett Lysne, Brett McElmurry, Squeak Meisel, Nathan Orosco, Diana Ortiz, Michael Richardson, Chris Stanley, and Molly Wicks.
