On Friday, March 1, 2019, Midland College (MC) undergraduate research students Susan Aina and Angwafo Lum attended the annual Texas Academy of Science meeting on the campus of Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX. They were accompanied by Greg Larson, Midland College (MC) associate professor of Biology.

The students participated in the poster board contest in the Freshwater Science Division with their research examining the effect of the Independence Creek convergence on the water quality of the Pecos River. Mr. Larson and his Midland College students have been conducting research on the Pecos River on the Chandler Ranch in Terrell County, TX since 2014.
