Midland College partners with Educate Midland and MISD to celebrate champions of educationMarch 28, 2018

On Thursday, April 5, Midland College will partner with Educate Midland, MISD and several other community organizations to host a celebration and resource fair for teachers, daycare providers, parents and others who advocate for education in the Midland community.  The event entitled “Celebrating Champions of Education” will be held at Stonegate Fellowship, 6000 W. Wadley, in Midland.

The presentation is part of Educate Midland’s Education Impact Series sponsored by Abell-Hanger Foundation.  Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with an educator resource fair hosted by United Way of Midland.  Key Energy is also a sponsoring partner.  Dinner will be provided at no charge to all registered attendees.

The keynote presentation will be given by Tim Brown, world-renowned educational consultant and former elementary, middle and high school principal.  Brown has 28 years of experience in education.  His presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Activities will conclude at 7:15 with door prizes.

“This event is free and open to the public,” said Educate Midland Executive Director Pervis Evans.  “We will offer resources, not just for teachers and school staff, but also for other unsung champions of education.  From food service personnel to daycare providers and parents, we want you to come.  Tim Brown’s lecture and discussion will be insightful and inspiring.”
