Midland College Foundation's Cowan Performing Arts Series to Present Comedian Frank CaliendoJuly 22, 2026

The Midland College Foundation invites the community to enjoy an evening of laughter as the Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series welcomes acclaimed comedian, actor, and impressionist Frank Caliendo to Midland College on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. 

The performance is free and open to the public, continuing the Cowan Performing Arts Series' longstanding mission of bringing high-quality arts, culture, and entertainment experiences to Midland and the greater Permian Basin at no cost to attendees. 

Known for his impeccable comedic timing and uncanny impressions, Caliendo has entertained audiences nationwide for more than two decades through television, radio, film, and live performances. His extensive repertoire of celebrity, sports, and political impressions has made him one of the most recognizable comedians in America.

Caliendo's high-energy live performances combine observations, characters, stories, and impressions that appeal to audiences of all ages. Throughout his career, he has headlined theaters across the country, maintained a three-year residency in Las Vegas, appeared at the prestigious Radio-Television Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C., and been featured in multiple Super Bowl pregame broadcasts.

Sports fans may recognize Caliendo from his years as a regular contributor on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, as well as appearances on SportsCenter and other ESPN programs. Prior to joining ESPN, he spent a decade entertaining viewers on Fox NFL Sunday.

His television credits include starring in his own TBS series, Frank TV, and comedy specials for TBS and Comedy Central. Caliendo was also a cast member on the sketch comedy series MADtv for five seasons and has made more than 20 combined appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show, and The Late Show.

In addition to his stand-up work, Caliendo has appeared in numerous television shows and films and has lent his voice talents to popular animated series including Gravity Falls and Phineas and Ferb.

The Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series is organized by Midland College Foundation and provides free access to nationally recognized performers, speakers, and artists. Through the generosity of donors and supporters, the series continues to enrich the cultural landscape of Midland and the Permian Basin while creating opportunities for lifelong learning and community engagement.

General admission seating is free, but reserving tickets is suggested. Preferred seating and an exclusive pre-concert reception are available for Midland College Friends of the Series and Distinguished Donors (minimum $1,500 gift).
