Throughout the month of February, the Midland College (MC) Student Activities office, in partnership with the MC History and Government departments, will host a series of videos, films and virtual discussions chronicling the struggle, triumph and contribution of blacks and African Americans in the United States. Each week, participants will enjoy activities that underscore key themes of each era.

Week 1:  February 1-5 – Origins, The Transatlantic Slave Trade, Pre-Civil War to Emancipation

Week 2:  February 8-12 – The Jim Crow South and the Civil Rights Movement

Week 3:  February 15-19 – Contributions

Week 4 – February 22-26 – Activism, Protests, Social Justice, Present Day
