The Midland College Foundation has announced its Annual Giving Campaign, highlighted this year by a community-wide C3 Challenge benefiting Midland College’s College & Career Connections (C3) program. The effort is boosted by a $50,000 matching gift from The Fasken Foundation, which will double all contributions made during the challenge period.

The C3 program is a collaborative initiative between Midland College and Midland ISD that provides students and families with early guidance on dual-credit options, financial aid resources, career pathways, and post-secondary planning. C3 coaches work directly inside local schools, helping students from 6th-12th grade explore academic and workforce opportunities that can keep talented young people in the Permian Basin.

This year’s matching challenge reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to strengthening the region’s talent pipeline. The Fasken Foundation’s support ensures that the impact of community participation is amplified, helping expand access to resources that prepare students for success in college, career, and beyond.

Jeff Alsup, Executive Director of The Fasken Foundation, emphasized the significance of supporting local pathways that connect students to meaningful futures. “When we invest in programs like C3, we invest in our community’s long-term success,” Alsup said. “Helping students discover their potential and build careers right here at home is essential to the continued growth of the Permian Basin.”

The Midland College Foundation will highlight the challenge throughout the coming weeks as part of its annual giving efforts. Contributions to the C3 Challenge will be matched dollar-for-dollar until the $50,000 goal is met, doubling the impact on local students and future workforce development.

“This challenge underscores what can happen when education, philanthropy, and community work together,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Midland College Dr. Adrian Vega. “It not only supports our students but also reinforces how deeply our community believes in their potential. We are proud to partner with The Fasken Foundation to advance this important initiative.”
