A $100,000 donation was made to Midland College for the naming rights to a community room to be located in the June and Frank Cowden, Jr. Dining Hall. The funding effort was led by the Rotary Club of Midland and the Midland West Rotary Club. The Dining Hall will break ground on September 10 and is scheduled for completion in Spring 2020. Once construction is complete, the Rotary Community Room will be available to all Midland Rotary groups, as well as, other community organizations.

The Rotary's goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education and increase adult literacy.

“We are delighted to receive this donation from the Midland-area Rotary clubs,” said Rebecca Bell, executive director of Institutional Advancement. “We are grateful for their continued commitment to furthering education and creating positive lasting changes in our community.”
