Charles, Lela and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship

The Charles, Lela and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship was established to help needy Texas students attend college. In agreement with Bank of America, Midland College reviews and recommends the scholarships for Texas residents entering or enrolled in any college or university in the United States. The Slough Scholarship awards up to $5,000 per year ($2,500 per Fall and Spring semesters) for a total of 5 years or the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree, or a total accumulation of 136 semester hours or 36 credits, whichever comes first. Smaller amounts may be awarded on a one-time basis with no guarantee of future awards. Applications MUST be submitted online.

Slough Scholarship Application Instructions

*Failure to accurately complete this WEB application and mail the required documents by April 1 will result in disqualification for this scholarship. No Exceptions

*Changes to the application are not allowed after submission. Only one application per year is permitted.

Basic Qualifications for All Applicants
• U.S. Citizen
• Texas Resident
• Graduate of a Texas High School
• Must not have exceeded more than 112-semester college credits

High School Graduates
Transcripts 
Your Official High School Transcript printed after January 1st of Senior year
     - Must be signed by a school Official
     - Or have an attached, signed document from School Official • GPA must be converted to a 100 point scale (Must be converted by an official at your school)     
     - This GPA may NOT exceed 100 points     
     - On the 4.0 College GPA or 4.0 unweighted GPA ? Formula: 20(GPA + 1)
• Any College Official Transcripts for Dual Credit must be sent in as well
• Copy of official ACT/ SAT scores (Email/printout from online testing center is acceptable.)
• Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Current College Students
Transcripts

• Your Official Transcripts from all Universities/ Colleges attended, cumulative GPA of 3.0

How to Maintain
Requirements set forth by the Foundation
• Cumulative 3.0 GPA per semester
• Student must register for 12 or more hours for both Fall and Spring **NO EXCEPTIONS
• Must be enrolled in consecutive semesters
• Turn in Official Transcripts at the end of each semester
• Recipient should not have exceeded 112 hours going into their upcoming year of eligibility
The decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final. Notifications of awards and status of applications are mailed in August.
