Midland Asset-Building Awards

The BEDC honored individuals and organizations that promote asset building in Midland on September 23, 2009 in the Midland College F. Marie Hall Academic Building Lecture Hall. MC Vice President Dr. Eileen Piwetz announced the honorees while City Councilman Jerry Morales presented the awards. Congratulations to the following 2009 awardees:

The BEDC promotes economic development in the community by providing comprehensive management, financial, and technical assistance and training to individuals, small businesses, entrepreneurial ventures, and non-profit organizations in the form of seminars and free, confidential counseling. The BEDC coordinates the Savings for Independence Individual Development Account (IDA) program.  This IDA program matches the savings of Midlanders saving for a first home or assets to start or expand a small business.
