Courtney Picture

Courtney Fairchild

Courtney graduated from UTPB with a Bachelors degree. Her best advising moments are when she helps students understand the process so they no longer feel scared or confused. Her favorite ice cream is Butter Pecan.

Best Advice “me, your instructors, the deans, etc. – we’re all people just like you with lives and issues and problems just like yours. Don’t be afraid to talk to any of us when you have a problem or a question. We can’t help if we don’t know there’s a problem.”

Dawn's Picture

Dawn Finley

Dawn started at William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa with a Bachelors degree. She finished a Masters at Texas Tech. The students and variety of daily tasks are what she loves about advising. Her favorite ice cream is Spumoni.

She would advise all students to not get behind, but if you do, talk to the instructor before you are unable to catch up.

Andrew Goe

Andrew has a Bachelors degree from Ball State University - GO CARDS! He enjoys helping his students find direction and purpose both in and out of the classroom. He absolutely loves strawberry sherbet from Hunnicutt's.

His best advice: Always have a positive attitude, give your best effort, and do your part to be prepared!

Amy is a homegrown MC girl! She finished her Bachelor’s on the Midland College Campus through Sul Ross State University. She enjoys interacting and getting to know students. You can sweeten her up with some Cherries Garcia. 

Her best piece of advice, “a little sacrifice now will pay off in the long run!"

Nereida Huffman

Nereida earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas and a Master of Education in Student Development and Leadership in Higher Education from Angelo State University. She loves the one-on-one interactions with students and helping student plan their academic goals. Her favorite ice cream is Butter Pecan.  

Her advice to new students is to get involved and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself.

Wendy attended Western Michigan University where she earned a Bachelors in Communications and a Masters in Higher Education Administration. She really enjoys working with students and helping them find their way to reaching their goals. While she does not discriminate and loves all ice creams, her favorite is Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby.

Her advice is to get involved on campus! Do not miss the amazing opportunities that enrich your academic experience and life. Your degree will get you in the door for a job, but the experience will help you to advance and succeed.

Carrie McGuire

Carrie McGuire

Carrie began her college career at Midland College before transferring to Texas Tech to complete a Bachelors degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management. Working on the MC campus is a dream come true for her.  She loves being able to help students find their own path to creating a positive college experience. Carrie enjoys all things baseball and daiquiri ice is her favorite ice dream flavor.  

Her one piece of advice: It's never too late to fulfill your dreams. Our job is to help you get to where YOU want to be!

Sara Mott

Sara started at Collin College in Plano, Texas and completed a Bachelors of Science in Psychology at Abilene Christian University. She is currently in the process of earning a Masters Degree. Sara loves getting to know the students she works with, as well as seeing them reach their academic and career goals. Her favorite ice cream is chocolate chip cookie dough, rocky road, or pretty much anything with chocolate!

She encourages students to get involved on campus or in a club, and don't be afraid to try out different subjects if you are interested in varying career paths! You might be surprised by what you fall in love with!

Emily Palmore

Emily holds a Bachelors degree from McMurry University in Education and a Master's in Education and Counseling from Hardin-Simmons University. She loves everything about the advising process but getting to know her students and being able to help guide them in achieving their overall ambitions is definitely the most rewarding part to her. Emily's favorite ice cream is the classic Flintstones Push Pop!

Best advice for being successful in college: Accountability is KEY... GO.TO.CLASS! Also, don't be afraid or intimidated to ask questions...this is YOUR education.

Diana finished a Bachelors degree at Angelo State and a Masters at Loyola University after she started working at Midland College. What she most enjoys about advising are making contacts with students and co-workers. She is an eater of Vanilla ice cream.
