Paul  MangumProfessor, Biology

In 1983, Mangum was invited to work in the biology lab at Texas Tech. That’s where he found his passion for science. He finds that online classes are too impersonal, so prefers the traditional classroom. He tries try to engage students with the stories of the people and how and why they came up with the ideas that students are now trying to learn.

He is a volunteer at Midland Community Theater. He enjoys traveling with his wife. He believes in the value of the arts in a community and the value of travel in personal growth. His favorite vacation spot is: Riccione, Italy. “Riccione is a fantastic seaside city and from Riccione it is easy to get to other Italian cities like Rimini, Bologna and Florence, and the country of San Marino.” #1 on his bucket list is to attend the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
