The Midland College Students In Philanthropy (SIP) Scholarship Program is an in-depth
leadership training scholarship program which provides student members the opportunity
to improve the quality of life in their community.
Students learn about the importance of philanthropy and the role of nonprofit organizations
in the community. Through the fundraising and grant-making process, students not only
make needed contributions to nonprofit organizations, but also gain leadership and
stewardship training through a structured program designed to educate, support and
promote philanthropic leadership in the community.
Up to 20 students are selected each year through an application and interview process.
These students will receive up to $750 per semester in scholarship monies and participate
in the program activities for a full academic year by attending weekly meetings designed
to enhance their knowledge of the nonprofit and philanthropic communities.
