Midland College is joining other community partners for the five-day Wellness Tour on July 30-August 3.  The Wellness Tour is sponsored by Midland Health and includes FREE activities and events scheduled throughout the week to promote physical and mental health.

On Thursday, July 31, 1:00-2:30 p.m., in the MC Advanced Technology Center Blankinship Lecture Hall, 3200 W. Cuthbert, Midland College will host a lecture and discussion focusing on stress management.  The seminar entitled “Stress Management Practices:  A Mind-Body Approach” is presented by Jennifer Whitehead, RYT, RCYT and Dr. Michael Whitehead, DC.

“Midland College is excited to be a participant in the Wellness Tour again this year,” said Wendy Wood-Collins, MC associate dean of Health Sciences Dual Credit and Continuing Education.  “This will be an excellent opportunity to learn how to prevent and manage stress before the busy onslaught of the fall season.”

The seminar will focus on ways to cope with and reduce stress associated with daily activities.  Discussion will include the physical and behavioral symptoms of stress and applied practices for helping to restore balance and calmness.

Reservations are not required for the July 31 seminar.
