The
Midland College Pilot Training Program prepares students for employment
as a First Officer for Mesa Airways. The program has specialized admission requirements due to the
Federal Aviation Regulations and the cost of flight training. For the
associate degree program students will complete a rigorous five semester
program culminating with an Associates Degree in Applied Science - Professional
Pilot. Each student will obtain the following pilot licenses and ratings:
Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Instrument rating and Multi-engine ratings.
An optional course study will permit students to obtain a Certified Flight
Instructor Certificate if they desire. Upon successful completion of the
program, each student will receive an interview for employment with Mesa
Airlines. Other courses of study include tailored training programs for
U.S. carriers and short courses of two to five days in upset training,
transition training, and recurrent training.
