THEA Testing

Quick THEA testing dates:

Day:     First Thursday of the month

Time:    8:30 a.m.

Cost:     $29.00 (check or money order made payable to NES)

Students must register no later than the Wednesday before the Thursday test. 

A picture identification is required of everyone taking the quick THEA on the day of the test.

Computerized THEA testing dates:

Day:     (by appointment)

Time:    (by appointment)

Cost:    $29.00 (check or money order made payable to NES)

Students must register with Nancy Carrillo.

**Note:  Students wishing to take this test after 5:00 p.m. will be scheduled on Fridays with Ida Casias.  Pre-register with Nancy Carrillo at (432) 336-7882.

Placement Testing

Placement testing in Mathematics, Reading, Writing and Grammar are available by appointment.  Contact Frances Cobb or Nancy Carrillo at (432) 336-7882.  Testing is free and available (by appointment) Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Limited testing computers.  Registration is a must!

Net Testing

Students wanting to take the Net Test need to call and set up an appointment.  March 31, 2004 is the last opportunity you will have to take the test and be able to retake before Nursing classes begin.

                                Day:            Monday - Friday (by appointment only)

                                Time:           8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (by appointment only)

                                Cost:            $29.00 (payable by check or money order)

Net Prep

Extra preparation and refresher information in the form of the Net Prep software is available in Lab 103, Lab 106 and Lab 107.  Students must contact Jo Lea Galvan to set up an account to access the software.  This is a free service to all students attending the WRTTC/Midland College.  This software covers mathematic and reading comprehension skills needed in the nursing profession.

Plato Skill Building Software

Plato is a comprehensive computerized skill building software that is offered as a free service to students currently enrolled at WRTTC/Midland College.  Plato software is a self-paced learning software that places students at the proper learning level for each individual student. 

The software evaluates the students skills and then begins the student at the needed level, assisting the student in building the skills as high as the student desires and at the pace the student determines.  Students wishing to enhance or refresh skills in Mathematics, English, Writing and Reading skills are encouraged to contact Jo Lea Galvan to set up a user account and password. 

The Plato software is available on computers in Lab 103, Lab 106 and Lab 107.  Due to licensing issues there are times when Plato Software is utilized to the maximum and the software may not be accessible.  Open lab times are posted on the doors of the computer labs dedicating times when the software is best accessible.
