Midland College Veterinary Technology Program SCNAVTA Chapter |
What is NAVTA?
NAVTA stands for the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America. It provides Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Technology students with valuable information about the Veterinary Profession. This association prints a publication, The NAVTA Journal, filled with new and innovating advances in veterinary medicine.
This organization allows us to have a student chapter, SCNAVTA. This chapter gives our students the opportunity to help the community understand the needs of their pets by offering client education on specific topics such as emergency care, flea and tick prevention and control, snake bite wounds, poisonous plants, and holiday health and hazards.
Our students also conduct fundraising activities through our SCNAVTA chapter. We hold an annual Santa Photo shoot where the community is encouraged to bring their pets and children to see Santa and take a photo with him (see upcoming events for more information)! We also make and stuff dog and cat stockings for your pet to make their Christmas a memorable one! The Easter Bunny has been known to visit our facility in the spring and stops in for a photo or two!
