At least 50% of the students undergoing Learning Styles Assessment will receive appropriate support services resulting in successful completion of course requirements by September 30, 2002.
Performance Indicators 2.1 & 2.2
2.1 By September 30, 2001, advisor interview sheets and faculty records will indicate a follow-up record for at least 50% of students referred to helping services.
2.2 At least 75% of faculty advisors and counselors will be oriented to the new student tracking system by May 30, 2001, as confirmed by the Intervention Specialist and Programmer.
Supporting Data:
Completed. One hundred percent (100%) of the students undergoing Learning Styles Assessment received appropriate support services resulting in successful completion of course requirements by September 30, 2002. Seventeen (17) students from Speech 1321 012T and ORIN 1101-001 012S underwent Learning Styles Assessment. Of these students, 17 successfully fulfilled requirements for their respective course.
Comments:
January 2002 – Reviewed and evaluated various learning styles assessments, including Kolb Learning Styles Inventory (LSI), Dunn & Dunn Environmental Preference Inventory, PEPS LSI, and Nursing Entrance Exam LSI. February 2002 – Selected Kolb LSI for use in Orientation classes.
March 2002 – Kolb LSI administered to College Survival Orientation and Speech 1321 students. Results interpreted by instructor and students and strategies for college success based on results discussed.
