Applying for Financial Aid
Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
This must be completed each school year and is based on the previous years income tax return. You must also complete the admission process for attendance at Midland College.
The Midland College Financial Aid Office will receive your application two to three weeks after you submit it online and begin processing.
Step 2: The Midland College Financial Aid Office will notify you by mail when you have been awarded and how much.
You may be chosen for verification. This is a two to four week process that requires the student to bring in requested documentation. The Midland College Financial Aid Office will make this request by mail. You will be required to submit your Tax Return Transcript and Verification Worksheet (available in our office). Any other documents required are available in the financial aid office.
Step 3: Once you have been awarded, you are able to register for classes and your Pell grant will pay for your tuition, fees and housing (if you live on campus). Anything remaining can be used for books and supplies in the Midland College Bookstore by book voucher. Any amount remaining after tuition, fees, housing, books and supplies are paid will be disbursed to the student on the Pell residual date.
