studentsThere are five steps involved in taking Dual Credit classes through Midland College: One: ADMISSION, Two: TESTING, Three: AGREEMENT FORMS, Four: ENROLLMENT and Five: PAYMENT

Step Two - TESTING is required for ADMISSION to Midland College's Dual Credit Program.

1. Texas Success Initiative (TSI) test scores or exemption documentation from the high school counselor. Examples: Scores on TSI, SAT, ACT or PSAT (11th grade only). Students must meet required testing pre-requisites in order to enroll.

 * A Midland College placement test is required for trigonometry and higher-level math courses

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

     Passing scores (designated by a Yes on chart) must be made on the test section(s) relating to a course or its skill prerequisite in order for a high school student to enroll in a college course. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a program designed to help students be successful in college. It includes assessment of students before entering a state-supported college or university, advisement and an individual plan designed to prepare students to meet college-readiness skills. Contact your high school advisor for more information.

 * Students that are TSI complete in Math may enroll in MATH 1314, or MATH 1324, or MATH 1342. Regardless of completion /exemption status, if enrolling in a higher level Mathematics course you must pass a placement test at Midland College Testing Center in order to enroll.

• Complete Online Apply Texas Application ( www.applytexas.org ) It is a 2 part processs that needs to be complete in order to be submitted.
MC Admissions Office will send an acceptance notification via email that will include Student ID, PIN, Online instructions to enroll in course(s). Application takes 24-48 hrs to arrive at MC. Please allow MC Admissions 3-5 working days to process information once it has arrived.

• Submit one of the following test scores (TAKS, ACT, SAT, PSAT, PLAN) to MC Enrollment Services at the Scharbauer Student Center.

   These scores are used to determine if you meet placement requirements.
   If scores meet requirements (verified by MC Enrollment Services Only), go to step 3.
   If scores are not high enough, additional placement testing is required prior to enrollment. Contact the Testing Center at 685-4504 for information regarding the TSI test. For more information, see midland.edu/students/dualcredit/admission

• Complete Parent/Student Agreement Form and submit it to the MC Enrollment Services

• Enroll in college courses at MC

• Dual Credit: After receiving your high school schedule, enroll online using Campus Connect which is located on our website midland.edu at the bottom of the page. Or in person at the Scharbauer Student Center. Note: You will need your MC Student ID number and PIN to enroll online.
• Early Admissions: Submit the completed Early Admissions Approval/
    Registration Form
to the Enrollment Services Office to enroll, or fax the completed form to (432) 685-6887.

• Pay
Online payment: Log on to Campus Connect. Select the "Student Information" heading and then "Review/Pay Bill," OR ...
Set up an interest-free, automatic payment plan online. Go to Campus Connect, "Review/Pay Bill," and select FACTS payment plan, OR ...
Pay in person at the Scharbauer Student Center.
*** NONPAYMENT WILL RESULT IN BEING DROPPED FROM CLASS(ES) ***

IN CASE OF WITHDRAWAL FROM HIGH SCHOOL DUAL CREDIT CLASS(ES) , STUDENT WILL NEED TO WITHDRAW FROM THE COLLEGE COURSE(S) AS WELL.

According to Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Rule T19:Part1:Chapter4:SubChD:Rule4.85:(7): High school students
shall not be enrolled in more than two dual credit courses per semester without the approval of their high school principal
and the Vice President of Student Services of Midland College.
