Dual-Credit Programs at CHAPS

CHAPS students may choose from any of the credit courses offered by Midland College as long as they have met all prerequisites and/or skill assessments required for the course.
Many MC courses fulfill college degree requirements and are easily transferable to any Texas public college or university. Others are geared toward workforce needs and may not transfer. Students and counselors should check for transferability before approving CHAPS courses for enrollment.
Academic Courses
MC offers a core curriculum of academic transfer courses that are accepted for credit at any Texas public college or university. Core curriculum subjects include:

• Government
• History
• Humanities
• Math
Workforce Courses
MC workforce programs that provide practical job skills and lead to a two-year associate of applied science degree or shorter-term technical certificate. Various certificate programs do not require assessment testing. Workforce programs include:

• Collision and Body Repair
• Computer Graphics Technology
• Diesel Technology
• Energy Technology
• Welding Technology
