THEA
Administered on most Saturday statewide dates. Preregistration is required with NES, along with the $29 test fee. A student may pick up a registration form in the Testing Center. This form will need to be completed and mailed. Or he/she may register online at www.thea.nesinc.com. An admission ticket and a valid photo ID is required at time of testing. Please allow five hours for this test.
WRITTEN THEA
Administered twice a month on Mondays throughout the year. THIS IS A PAPER AND PENCIL TEST. Preregistration is required, as well as the $29 test fee payable to NES by check, money order, VISA, or MasterCard. Please allow five hours for the exam. VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
COMPASS
A computerized option to the THEA test, administered weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. At least one day before testing, a student needs to preregister and pay the $29 test fee. Payment for the COMPASS test is made at the Cashier’s office in the Scharbauer Student Center. Please allow 3.5 hours for the exam. VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
ACT
Administered on most Saturday national testing dates. Preregistration at www.act.org is required with ACT. An admission ticket and valid photo ID is required at time of testing.
CLEP
Offered once a month on Tuesday. Preregistration in the Testing Center is required at least one day prior to testing. A list of CLEP exams offered can be found on this website. The test fees are $60 payable to CLEP and $15 payable to Midland College. The CLEP test is a timed computer test. VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
CORRESPONDENCE COURSE EXAMS
Administration of correspondence course exams is available to all students in the Testing Center. An appointment has to be scheduled to take an exam. Midland College assesses the student a $10 proctor fee. VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
GED
Offered Mondays and Tuesdays on alternating weeks. (See Testing schedule for dates)
Preregistration-----beginning at 12:00 noon---- is mandatory on the Friday immediately prior to the exam. At this time a student must bring his social security card, the $60 test fee and a valid drivers’ license (or other government issued ID such as a DPS ID card, military ID or passport). NOTE: During the summer months, preregistration takes place on Thursdays because Midland College is closed Fridays. Allow one hour for registration. MAKE UP EXAMS
Midland College students may take make up exams in the Testing Center. These tests are arranged with the individual faculty member. A VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
NET
Offered every Thursday at 8:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. for students seeking admission to programs in the Health Sciences department. The student must pay the $25 test fee at the Cashier’s office, then register at the Testing Center at least one day prior to testing. The NET test is a timed computer test. VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
PLACEMENT EXAMS
Placement exams for various departments at Midland College are offered free of charge. No appointment is necessary. VALID PHOTO ID REQUIRED.
SAT
Administered on most Saturday national testing dates. Preregistration is required with SAT at www.collegeboard.com. An admission ticket and valid photo ID is required at time of testing.
Other exams for certifying agencies such as ASE, FAA, and ISA are offered at the Testing Center. Contact the office for details.
