
MC Basketball Coach Accepts Position at Midwestern State

Midland College head men’s basketball coach Grant McCasland has accepted an offer to become the head men’s basketball coach at Midwestern State University (NCAA - II) in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The highly successful McCasland guided the MC Chaparrals to three NJCAA National Men’s Division I Championships in four seasons, winning the title in 2007 and finishing as runner-up in 2009. McCasland spent five seasons at MC, one as assistant and four at the helm. He posted a career record of 143-32 (.817).
“Coach McCasland has left an indelible mark on the Chap basketball program. His relationship to the community as well as his ability as a coach will serve Midwestern (State University) very well” said MC Athletic Director, Forrest Allen. “He has a tremendously supportive family and that has contributed to his success in a profound manner” said Allen.
Midland College will immediately set out to find its next head men’s coach beginning with posting the position on the school website as well as www.njcaa.org. According to Texas State law the position must be posted for 10 days before any action can take place.
All interested individuals will need to forward their resume’/vita to the Midland College Human Resource Department and not to the MC Athletic Department. Interested parties will also need to submit an employment application as well as supporting materials. Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.
