Lady Chaps' Ron Jones Earns 400th MC Coaching Victory

Heading into the 2009 opener with Yavapai College (AZ), the #6 ranked Lady Chaps sought to get the season off to a great start. What many of the players may not have known was the historical significance of the game. With an MC career record of 399-100, head coach Ron Jones was poised to coach in his 500th game at the helm of the Lady Chap program and concurrently earn his 400th MC victory.

By 8:47 that night, all the goals had been reached.

The Lady Chaps hosted the Tip-Off Classic at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center which featured three WJCAC teams including the defending Region V Champion Howard College Lady Hawks, #21 Odessa College Lady Wranglers and of course Midland College. The WJCAC mainstays were joined by Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters, Jacksonville College (TX) Lady Jaguars and the aforementioned Yavapai College Lady Riders.

Lady Chap Coach Ron Jones' MC career record currently sits at 402-100 (.801) following the three wins over the weekend and heading into their first road trip of the season.
