If you have "gently worn" professional attire that you would like to donate, please deliver it to Lupe Daniels or Louise Powell at the Career Center located in the Scharbauer Student Center (in the advising area).

All sizes and all items are needed--men's and women's clothing, shoes and accessories.

Set-Up Requests

From April Kennedy, Assistant to the Director of Physical Plant
We are having some minor issues with set-up requests.  When you have an event that involves catering, please make sure that you request to have the set-up completed at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours in advance.  This will give the catering team time to place the table cloths, plates, etc. before your event starts.  When you request the set-up to be completed by 8:45 and your event starts at 9:00, it does not leave enough time for all involved to have everything completed before your guests arrive.
Thank you for your help and support in this matter.  Please remember to submit your set-up requests as soon as you make your room reservations.
Room reservations go to Irma Moreno, imoreno@midland.edu
Set-up requests to Irene Castro, icastro@midland.edu
Food requests to Great Western Dining, Gwestern@midland.edu

Employee Folders on MC Network Should be Cleaned
From Paul McGuire, IT Department
As many of you have noticed, the Home volume has filled up, which is used by everyone who logs into the campus network.  After doing an audit of space utilization, it shows a very high percentage of use is being taken by Pictures, Music, and Backup Folders.  If you need anything stored permanently and long term such as those types of listed files, please burn them to a CD or DVD for offline storage and delete them from the network.  We understand that some of these are needed for frequent use, but the majority can be backed up.  Music and Picture files especially need to be removed unless being used in a work-related manner.  Please take a few minutes to just look at your home directory (the one with your user ID on it such as 'pmcguire on nwcl1-fachome').

Burmese Population at See MC
From Alfredo Chaparro, Community Services Director
A special attempt is being made to get the Burmese population to the See MC event on April 12th. After our 2013 experiences, we realize this goal will be a challenge. For 2014, we have contracted a Burmese speaking individual to help with recruitment, we are translating the See MC poster into Burmese, and an Early College High School student who walked out of Burma is slated to speak from the main stage on the day of the event.
If you have any ideas on getting the Burmese population to the See MC event, please share them with me. Even more importantly, I need individuals willing to implement the ideas shared.

If you have Burmese students in any of your classes that might be willing to help get the word out, please let me know, achaparro@midland.edu, 559-1372.
