Welcome
to the Fasken Learning Resource Center's Online Tutorial for Library
Research Tools.
Library Research is about finding relevant information in:
- books & eBooks
- Audio-Visual materials
- scholarly journals
- magazine articles
- newspapers
- electronic databases
- World Wide Web
The information you find might be printed in books, journals, or in digitized
formats. Sources can be physically located within the LRC's collection, within electronic databases, or within
another library's collection. Moreover, the information you find
might be in Streaming Videos, DVDs, CDs, or within TexShare and other Databases
and electronic books (eBooks).
The Internet is another tool for finding information. Reputable web sites
can be excellent sources of electronic text, video and audio information.
To be successful in Library Research you need to know
how to use all the tools that help you locate and access the needed
information.
