TEXSHARE is a program partially funded by the state and administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission to promote sharing of resources among Texas libraries.   You can learn more by visiting the website: TexShare

By subsidizing some of the costs, TexShare enables a library to provide some electronic resources that would otherwise be cost prohibitive.

These electronic resources are organized into various groups and include eBooks, Streaming videos, databases of reference materials and encyclopedias, periodicals indexing and abstracting of articles, many with full-text.

Texas colleges and universities subscribe to these resources and make them available to their students. Current Midland College students that will be transferring will use many of the same Databases for their upper level studies.

You need to become familiar with the various groups available so that you can determine which source best meets your informational needs.

Distance Learning/Canvas students, contact your instructor or the LRC for remote access information.

This module will introduce and give you general information about the various databases. To learn how to search each, go to Using electronic indexes. To learn how to simultaneously search multiple databases plus e-Library, go to Speedy Search.
