Carpool will be located in the same place as last year, in the parking lot of the Allison Fine Arts building.  A map will be available online at www.midland.edu/kidscollege, at the Continuing Education office, or at the Registrar’s office. Please make sure that your child knows their schedule.  We ask that all children go to carpool and not wait at other locations on campus. If you must park and pick up your child, please assist Kids' College staff and wait for the flow of traffice to stop before stepping into the line of traffic. Security is essential to the safety of your children during Kids’ College and we appreciate your cooperation.  Campus police officers will assist Kids’ College staff with traffic and your patience and cooperation is appreciated.

Carpool will begin at 12:15 p.m. Staff will not be available before this time and we ask that you do not leave your child unattended. Last pick-up of the day will begin as soon as all children are at the pick-up site, which is usually 5:10 p.m.

Conduct

Since the purpose of Kids’ College is to provide an enrichment program, proper standards of conduct are necessary to protect the health, safety and well-being of all Kids’ College students.

  • Behavior that might interfere with the educational process is unacceptable.
  • Students will be respectful of other students and staff.
  • Students will be careful with college equipment, property, and the property of other students.
  • Safety of students is our first responsibility.  Students MAY NOT GO ANYWHERE on campus without being accompanied by a staff member.
  • Parents will be contacted if their child is involved in any unacceptable situations during the day.
  • Inappropriate/Unacceptable behavior will require pickup and dismissal of the rest of the days activities.
  • Appropriate staff members, have the right, at any time, to exclude any child from activities due to failure or inability to follow, as directed,  any and all rules and/or policies for participants.

Health Concerns

Kids’ College Coordinators have completed the requirements for Standard First Aid, Adult, Child & Infant CPR, Epi-Auto Injector, and Asthma Inhaler.  Training was coordinated through the American Red Cross.  If you have any concerns regarding your child’s health please visit with the Kids’ College Associate Director. Children with food allergies are advised not to enroll in a cooking class.

Schedules and Name Tags

Schedules can be printed at the time of online registration .  Please make sure that your child knows their class schedule.  In case of inclement weather, please keep a copy of this schedule so you will know the class and building your child is located.  Children will be given nametags during the first Kids’ College class.  Nametags include a list of classes with room numbers and building names.  Students are encouraged to wear their nametags for the duration, as this assists the Kids’ College staff.

Clothing

Students should dress in casual play clothes, with care given to appropriate clothing for special classes.

Snack

There will be a break between the second and third classes to allow for class changes and an organized “group” refreshment break.  KC staff has noticed that children get to their classrooms later than they should when purchasing snacks from the vending machines.

Lost and Found

All lost and found articles will be located at the Kids' College office, please call 432-686-4242

T-shirts

Will be given to all students in the 2:10 class on Tuesday of the second week of each Kids' College session.  If you are not enrolled in a 2:10 class, please pick up a t-shirt on the second Wednesday of classes.  Shirts can be picked up from the Kids' College office located in Portable Building 7A..  T-shirts cannot be replaced if a student loses their shirt.

We encourage all students to wear their t-shirt on the last day of classes each session.  If you are enrolled in all Kids’ College sessions, you will receive one t-shirt during the first session.
