General Information Online Registration Online registration will increase a student’s chances of getting into their favorite class(es). Dates for online registration are _____________. Online registration will reopen on _________________. Payment at the time of registration ensures your child to be in the class of their choice. Lack of payment will result in child being dropped from course(s). Pre-admission Forms In order to register online, pre-admission forms must be completed and received by the Kids’ College office, prior to online registration. Dates for submission are __________________. It is preferred that you submit this form electronically at www.midland.edu/kidscollege or complete in full and return to: Midland College Registrar's office in the Scharbauer Student Center, or fax to 685-6401 or 685-6412. Fee Schedule Each class is $45 with supply fees that range from $5 to $21.
Student’s Grade Level To be eligible for Kids’ College, students must have finished grades 1st through 6th in school year 2008-2009. No exceptions will be made. Camp Locations and Transportation COM Aquatics, 3003 N. “A” Street. For Swim and Dive camp, students attending Kids' College, transportation will be provided from COM to Midland College at 2:00 p.m. ONLY, if students are spending the rest of their afternoon in Kids’ College. Dive-nastics, Gymnastics & Stunts and Learn to Swim at COM Aquatics camp students will spend their day at COM. Midland Community Theatre, 2000 W. Wadley. Students must be dropped off at MCT. For all students attending Kids' College, transportation will be provided from MCT to Midland College at 12:00 pm. Students will have time for lunch either at the snack bar or by bringing a lunch. After lunch, staff will supervise and escort students to their afternoon activity at Kids' College. Lunch Program - For Midland Community Theatre and LEGO camp students only. Please enroll your child in this program if your child attends Midland Community Theatre in the morning and plan to attend Kids’ College in the afternoon. Kids can bring a sack lunch or enroll in the daily pay lunch program or a two-week payment. Parents: Even if your child plans to bring a lunch, please enroll in the ‘Bringing sack lunch’ class so that staff will know how to transport/escort children. Session I 12:00 - 12:30 2-week payment $32 Bringing sack lunch Session II 12:00 - 12:30 2-week payment $32 Bringing sack lunch Drop-off/Pick-up Carpool will be in the parking lot of the Allison Fine Arts building. A map will be available online at www.midland.edu/kidscollege, at the Continuing Education office, or at the Registrar’s office. Please make sure that your child knows their schedule. We ask that all children go to carpool and not wait at other locations on campus. Security is essential to the safety of your children during Kids’ College and we appreciate your cooperation. Campus police officers will assist Kids’ College staff with traffic and your patience and cooperation is appreciated. Carpool will begin at 12:15 p.m. Staff will not be available before this time and we ask that you do not leave your child unattended. Last pick-up of the day will begin as soon as all children are at the pick-up site, which is usually 5:10 p.m. Conduct Since the purpose of Kids’ College is to provide an enrichment program, proper standards of conduct are necessary to protect the health, safety and well-being of all Kids’ College students.
Health Concerns Kids’ College Coordinators have completed the requirements for Standard First Aid, Adult, Child & Infant CPR, Epi-Auto Injector, and Asthma Inhaler. Training was coordinated through the American Red Cross. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s health please visit with the Kids’ College Coordinator at 685-4724 or a Runner Coordinator at 686-4850 or 685-6464. Children with food allergies are advised not to enroll in a cooking class. Schedules and Name Tags Students will receive schedules at registration (online or walk-in). Please make sure that your child knows their class schedule. In case of inclement weather, please keep a copy of this schedule so you will know the class and building your child is located in. Children will be given nametags during the first Kids’ College class. Nametags include a list of classes with room numbers and building names. Students are encouraged to wear their nametags for the duration, as this assists the Kids’ College staff. Clothing Students should dress in casual play clothes, with care given to appropriate clothing for special classes. We encourage students to wear tennis shoes this year due to construction on campus. Snack There will be a break between the second and third classes to allow for class changes and an organized “group” refreshment break. KC staff has noticed that children get to their classrooms later than they should because of the tie up at the vending machine.. Lost and Found All lost and found articles will be located in the Allison Fine Arts Building, Room 117, if necessary, please call 432-686-4850. T-shirts Will be given to all students in the 2:10 class on Tuesday of the second week of each Kids' College session. If you are not enrolled in a 2:10 class, please pick up a t-shirt at the Kids’ College office, Allison Fine Arts Building, Room 117, on the second Wednesday of classes. T-shirts cannot be replaced if a student loses their shirt. T-shirts ARE NOT available to student’s that enroll ONLY in Masters of Distaster.
We encourage all students to wear their t-shirt on the last day of classes each session. If you are enrolled in both Kids’ College sessions, you will receive one t-shirt during the first session. |
