UPWARD BOUND PROJECT DIRECTOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and coordinate curriculum especially designed to expose Upward Bound students to cultural events not usually available to disadvantaged youth
- Implement, supervise and evaluate project activities
- Oversee the development, implementation and operation of all activities and services necessary to achieve project objectives
- Serve as liaison between Midland College, MISD, and community agencies and organizations, to include presentations of the project’s objectives
- Prepare and submit Annual Performance Report to US Department of Education and other required reports
- Research, prepare and submit proposals for renewal of project funding
- Participate in all functions of the project and TRIO workshops and conferences
- Develop support workshops for parents
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Five years experience working with low-income, potential first-generation college students
- Knowledge of collegiate academic and financial aid procedures
- Previous experience designing, managing, and implementing educational programs for disadvantaged youth.
- Preference given to candidates who have a low-income and first generation college student background
Preferred:
- Master’s degree preferred
- Previous experience as administrator of federal grant program, to include project and budget management.
SALARY
$35,000 - $45,000 commensurate with education and experience. Excellent fringe benefits. Position funded through a grant.
