TECHNICAL SERVICES
PART-TIME CLERK
The Part-time Technical Services Clerk assists in the acquisitions and cataloging of LRC materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies bibliographic information on book titles prior to ordering
Data entry and update of all book orders
Verifies book deliveries against invoices
Contracts vendors and claims missing titles as needed
Searches catalog records in bibliographic databases and prints edit sheet for each title
Processes physical volumes
Maintenance and generation of Books Processed Record Report
Assists in inventory and collection maintenance procedures
Performs related work as required, including Circulation Desk duty as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma required, some college preferred
Computer experience including word processing software, databases (Access or Paradox), and generation of reports
Experience processing and receiving purchased materials
Experience processing invoices for payment
Good organization and communication skills
Clerical experience
Ability to read fine print, lift and move boxes of library books (up to 40 lbs. per box)
Prefer experience with the ordering process and/or knowledge of library procedures
SALARY
$8.00 per hour. Some Saturday work required.
