PART-TIME GED EXAMINER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Register candidates for and administer GED Tests in compliance with policies and procedures established by TEA
- Administer GED tests to candidates with documented disabilities who have obtained approval from TEA to test under modified conditions
- Maintain GED test booklet security at all times
- Attend training sessions on the Midland College campus for GED Examiners regarding test procedures, emergency plan, and security as required by TEA
- Periodically attend mandatory training in Austin as required by TEA
- Conduct various forms of outreach which includes, but is not limited to speaking to local businesses and community groups and preparing mailings of testing schedules, GED updates, and occasional newsletters to community organizations
- General office work to include correspondence, filing, record keeping, and assisting candidates with forms and information
- Must be able to visually monitor candidates in a testing environment and be able to lift boxes of testing materials that may weigh as much as 20 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or higher
- Ability to read and speak Spanish considered a plus
- Demonstrated competency in working with a diverse clientele
- Experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Able to maintain composure in stressful situations
SALARY:
$9.00 per hour.
