FINANCIAL AID SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine receptionist duties including answering telephones and handling public inquiries
• Counsel students concerning financial aid and the application process
• Process incoming documents using document imaging software
• Analyze and verify student files for awarding  
• Assist in the awarding process
• Maintain forms and supplies inventory
• Monitor financial aid transcripts
• Manage paperwork from outside billing for submission to the Accounting Department
• Image all documents to reduce paper files
• Assist with state financial aid programs
• Analyze U.S. Income Tax Forms and Tax Transcripts
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate; Associate Degree preferred
• Two years Secretarial/General work experience
• Excellent communication skill
• Good computer skills along with data entry experience
• Financial aid experience preferred
• Must be able to manage a large volume work flow with minimum supervision
• Must be detail oriented and highly self-motivated
• Knowledge of P.O.I.S.E. (financial aid software), MS Word, Excel, and WordPerfect preferred

SALARY

Starting salary is $1,829.58 per month. Excellent fringe benefits.
