DIRECTOR OF BACCALAUREATE PROGRAMS

Midland College is one of three Texas community colleges authorized to offer applied baccalaureate degrees.  The College currently has a single baccalaureate degree program and is interested in developing others in response to regional need. The director’s position is responsible for oversight of the existing baccalaureate program in Organizational Management, for leading the College’s efforts to develop and implement additional degree programs and for oversight of the College’s University Center which hosts programs from other institutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting program feasibility studies
• Securing college, State and accrediting agency program approval as applicable
• Assuring program compliance with State and accrediting agency requirements
• Program marketing and student recruitment
• Oversight of University Center
• Collaboration with representatives of other institutions regarding University Center offerings
• Management of budgets, catalogs and schedules, personnel documentation, and college reports
• Liaison with community and institutional leaders, business partners, and advisory team members
• Communication and documentation of program activities
• Oversight of curriculum design efforts
• Supervision and evaluation of full-time and part-time instructors as applicable
• Oversight of the applied baccalaureate internship initiative
• Course scheduling
• Student advising
• Service on appropriate campus committees
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• A minimum of a graduate degree in field related to an applied baccalaureate program
• Three or more years in organizational leadership and/or coordination of technical education programs
• Program planning, project management, marketing, written and oral proficiency in the English language, positive public speaking abilities
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and electronic mail

Preferred:

• Doctoral Degree
• Prior experience in college instruction
• Business experience and familiarity with distance learning
• Blackboard online delivery experience

SALARY

$50,000-$60,000 per year. Excellent fringe benefits.
