DATABASE PROGRAMMER

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consult with users of assigned departments to develop & maintain programs, processes, and report applications using the POISE database management system and/or other database management systems as required
• Support and train users of the database management systems
• Assist the data center manager in the maintenance of the integrity of the college=s databases
• Assist the data center manager in all database and related hardware/software upgrades, patches and installations
• Write, test, and maintain application programs in DMS, BASIC, C/C++, DCL, and POISE Control languages
• Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and PHP scripting language
• Execute programs and provide results to users
• Create accurate statistical, informational and state reports as requested
• Assist in maintaining procedural guides, training guides and the work order system

QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC and/or C/C++ programming language knowledge required. Must possess the ability to learn and work under pressure. Knowledge of HP Open VMS, personal computer/peripherals, and other office related equipment.  Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.  Experience in POISE Administrative software systems and user support desired.

SALARY

Salary is $35,000.00 per year.  Excellent fringe benefits.  Position available immediately.
